Summer Movie Night - July 23 - The Wizard of Oz
Come to downtown Urbana this Saturday! Meet your neighbors, eat great food, and watch a classic film that people of all ages will enjoy. It's free!The Wizard of Oz will be the first installment of #urbanalove's third-annual Summer Movie Nights series. We'll be showing the film in the Busey Bank parking lot in Downtown Urbana. It's not just about films, though. Come to hang out with friends, scarf down some delicious dishes provided by local food trucks, and enjoy the summer in Urbana.The Wizard of Oz follows Dorothy, a girl from Kansas who finds herself in the Land of Oz when her house is hit by a tornado, and her efforts to get home. First released nearly 80 years ago, The Wizard of Oz is now more than just a movie, it's a part of our culture. (There's no place like home! There's no place like home!) The Technicolor film's high saturation gives this movie a vivid, yet fantastical feel that will capture the imagination of children and adults alike. If it's been a decade or two since you've seen it, it's time for another viewing!The screening starts at 8:30 p.m. and follows Imbibe Urbana's Uncover Urbana event.
