Summer Movie Night in Urbana this Friday - The Bicycle Thief
Join us this Friday for the opening night of Urbana's second-annual Summer Movie Night series in the parking lot of 129 N. Race St. Come hang out with your neighbors, ride a bike with us, watch a movie, and celebrate the coming of Summer in CU![embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrlJ9iLujWQ[/embed]Summer Movie Night is a series of monthly movies held outdoors in downtown Urbana that aims to connect community members with each other and their community's physical space through movies and other activities. Now in its second year, Summer Movie Night is organized by Urbanalove - an organization whose members live and work in Urbana and want to showcase the changes that have revitalized downtown Urbana in the past few years.Friday's movie will be the Italian neorealism classic, The Bicycle Thief- chosen to celebrate Bicycle Month in CU. Considered by many to be Vittorio De Sica's masterpiece, The Bicycle Thief tells the story of a young father searching to find his stolen bike - a bike he needs to perform the job that he just got. The Bicycle Thief offers and unflinching portrayal of post-WWII Italy and the human condition.Before each movie, we'll have different events including live music, short film screenings, games, and other activities designed to appeal to community members of all ages, so bring your family!Friday's Schedule:6:00 PM: Community Bicycle Ride
Meet us at the Campus Bicycle Center (608 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Champaign) and we'll ride to the movie screening together. This event is designed for bicyclists of all ages and skill levels, so don't feel like we'll outpace you -- you'll probably outpace us! (Disclaimer: Wearing a helmet and following traffic safety rules are recommended.)

We'll show a few short videos followed by The Bicycle Thief. Remember to bring your own blankets and chairs!
