The purpose of Bike to Work Day is to promote the use of bikes as a means of commuting to work, replacing more traditional ways like cars or public transportation. Cycling is not only one of the most environmentally-friendly ways to get to work, but it can also provide you with the physical activity that you need making it a good option for the efficiency-minded. Due to CU's topography and relative lack of sprawl, it's an ideal city for those interested in maximizing bike use.CU Cyclists have organized 9 stations located throughout Champaign, Urbana, and campus. These stations will offer information about cycling in CU, refreshments, and conversation. People interested in working at the stations throughout the day are invited to register here. For the second year, Neutral Cycle will be on Green, south of the Engineering Quad and at the Hyatt in Downtown Champaign offering free tune-ups.For more information about National Bike Month in CU, visit CU Bike Month 2015, their Facebook page, and our post on bike month.
